Generation Investment Management is an independent, private, owner-managed partnership with offices in London, New York and Sydney. The firm was co-founded in 2004 by Al Gore and David Blood, former president of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Generation employs 54 people including 25 investment professionals. Generation manages four products: a long-only global equity fund, an Asia equity strategy, a sustainable private debt fund, and Climate Solutions, a public/private crossover fund.

Generations’ fundamental premise is that sustainability factors – environmental, social and governance – are material to financial performance. By integrating these factors into the investment process, Generation seeks to demonstrate that sustainability is material to financial performance. This, in combination with efforts such as the Enhanced Analytics Framework (a group of which Generation is a founding member), may catalyze the investment community to more actively consider sustainability factors when evaluating public companies. Generation donates 5% of its profits to the Generation Foundation, which is involved in nonpolitical advocacy promoting the integration of sustainability research into the capital markets.
